President Pinocchio

by BornintheUSA99

President Pinocchio
When will President Obama stop lying to America; when will he stop playing us for fools (or is it bitter clingers?) about energy and our resources? In Friday’s press conference, Mr. Obama brazenly claimed we have record high oil production and as usual, it’s not his fault that oil prices are heading for the stratosphere. Nothing is ever Mr. Obama’s fault! Obama also asserted that we have only 2% of the world’s oil. Baloney!

According to the Congressional Resource Service (CRS), a legislative branch agency that works exclusively for the United States Congress, regardless of party affiliation, America has at least 17% of the world’s oil, if not more. The CRS recently reported that we have “…19.1 billion barrels of proven reserves, which is the number President Obama cites as 2% of the world’s oil. CRS, however, showed that between our proven reserves and oil predicted to be found, there is likely to be a combined 164.1 billion barrels, or 8.5 times as much as the president alleges.”

It is evident to any but the most ardent green ideologue that the Obama administration’s anti-energy policies are a disaster for America. Not only does he turn off the valve on the flow of our resources, but he stands before the American people and lies about it. The Institute for Energy Research puts our present output in context:

“The President’s anti-energy policies are a man-made disaster. Try as he may to deflect responsibility away from his own policies, President Obama can’t escape from the simple fact that the actions of his administration have dramatically slowed down domestic energy production. As a consequence, his policies are directly responsible for increasing gas prices."

“In 2007, an analysis from the federal government’s Energy Information Agency (EIA) predicted that domestic offshore production would be 717.9 million barrels in 2010. As a result of the Obama Administration’s policies, it was 600 million. Likewise, the projected onshore production was 132.9 million barrels. Under Obama, it was only 114 million.”

“Under President Obama’s policies, federal land and water production in 2010 was 136.8 million barrels less than was predicted in 2007, or a 16% drop from what was expected.”

“Oil production on federal lands is expected to dramatically decrease as a consequence of President Obama’s anti-energy policies. In 2011, EIA estimates that oil production in the federal Gulf of Mexico will fall by 15 percent. In 2012, it will fall by 26 percent from the 2010 production high water mark.”

We control vast energy resources without even considering our coal deposits which are unmatched anywhere. Coal burning plants contribute about 50% of our electricity, but coal is also an evil resource to be controlled and shut down in the minds of environmental extremists.

Mr. President, you are a fraud and a robotic tool of the anti-everything left. It is a disgrace that you look the American people in the eye and say you are doing all you can to ease the energy crunch, when in fact, you are doing all you can to make that crunch worse. Your policies are preventing America from using her own resources and causing thousands of jobs to be lost and millions of families to struggle needlessly in the process.
